Fuser Film Sleeves

By John

When you are in the market for laser printer parts, it can be easy to succumb to the cheaper parts. Printer parts are made all over the world, sometimes with quality materials and other times with questionable ones. Whether you are search for HP printer parts or generic spare printer parts, it is best to research the manufacturers; this ensures that the parts you use to repair your printer will hold up for as long as you need to print.

All printers are made up of various rotating parts. Some will deteriorate faster than others. Fuser film sleeves are an integral part of the printers operation. National Parts Depot has an in depth description of this crucial part on their website: http://www.nationalparts.com/is/fuserfilmsleeve.html

Over the past 17 years, the fuser film sleeve market has become flooded with low-cost, low-quality products, marked most notably by the recent explosion of manufacturing in China. Not all manufacturers in China use questionable materials; but it requires much research to ensure the sleeve you’ve purchased for your fuser repair won’t deteriorate after a few uses.

National Parts Depot was one of the first companies to offer replacement laser printer fuser film sleeves in the mid 1990′s. All of their sleeves are manufactured in Europe using a 100% internally controlled production of both their polyimide base material and metal cores. In addition, fuser sleeves are inspected and rigorously tested to ensure their performance on all types of media and operating conditions. National Parts Depot’s aim is to provide the widest selection of OEM quality products at a reasonable cost.

The production facility has been in operation for over 15 years. National Parts Depot has supplied over a million sleeves specifically for the HP printer line.  As the market continues to mature, they have expanded their manufacturing operation.

Whether you are looking to rebuild a broken fuser, need fuser sleeves for fuser assembly or just want printer and copier parts, it is always best to go with a company that has the reputation for using quality materials. The affordable price is just a bonus.

National Parts Depot Partners with Toshiba for Tear Down Copier Program

By John

National Parts Depot, in conjunction with Toshiba, has a program to market and distribute the manufacturer’s “B” stock of copiers. The Toshiba copiers that are classified as “B” stock are those with some minor external defects, but that are in perfect condition internally and fully functioning. These copiers have generally been shipped and returned, but are new in the sense that no copies have ever been printed from them.

The main role that National Parts Depot is playing in this tear down copier program is in marketing the components to hardware dealers. The benefit for dealers in participating in the copier tear down program is a savings of up to 40% for parts that are completely brand new. Additionally, National Parts Depot has simplified the entire process of ordering and receiving these parts; they have taken on the role of account management for the program and are available to answer questions and confirm the availability and price of parts at any time. Through their account management department, National Parts Depot will provide estimates on how much you can save based on which parts you are looking for.

By creating a searchable inventory list of parts in the tear down program, and by making representatives available to answer questions, National Part Depot has removed the barriers around accessing these parts that have existed in the past. The partnerships that National Parts Depot is forging with dealers provide them with a link to people who have firsthand knowledge of maintaining and repairing these machines.

The copier tear down program at once allows Toshiba to liquidate some back stock of merchandise that has aesthetic blemishes; all while enabling the dealers and branches to save substantially in comparison to what they would normally pay. National Parts Depot will be extracting many different internal components from the copiers for resale; some of the components include: fusers, developers, belt assemblies, lens units, gear and drive assemblies, glass, and outer casing parts, in addition to pretty much anything else that can be salvaged and are of use to the dealers.

Flooding in Thailand Impacting Hard Drive Production and Distribution

By John

The devastating floods that have inundated Thailand have triggered  a  delay in shipment for many computer parts and accessories. Specifically, hard drives from Thailand have been hard to come by as a result of the effects of this year’s monsoon season; many hardware providers rely on the Toshiba Thailand distribution for their hard drives and other computer parts.

The devastating floods affected most areas around the Chao Phraya and Mekong Rivers, including the outskirts of the Thai capital, Bangkok. Several industrial sectors were greatly damaged and many factories have halted production, leaving many suppliers out of computer parts and electronics, as well as a lot of people out of work; at least for the time being.

According to a November article in CNN, California-based Western Digital, which manufactures hard drives for Toshiba, has stopped production at their two primary locations since the beginning of October:

“Western Digital, the global hard drive leader, is expected to be among the hardest hit companies operating in the region. The company has two of its main manufacturing facilities in Thailand, and flood waters entered both facilities, submerging much of the company’s equipment in one location…The hard drives that are made by Western Digital, Toshiba, and other smaller players in the areas impacted by the flooding are mainly designed for notebook and netbook personal computers.”

Providing a scale of the impact the ceasing of hard drive production at will have, http://www.newschannel5.com/story/15881236/storage-sticker-shock-why-thailand-floods-mean-pricier-hard-drives).

National Parts Depot has made itself less vulnerable to the effects of the devastating flooding in Thailand; they receive hard drives directly from Toshiba. The company has expanded their stock of Toshiba hard drives and in most cases doesn’t need to receive shipments in to fulfill all of their orders.

If you’ve done your research and you’re in the market for a Toshiba hard drive, National Parts Depot is your best bet considering the difficulty that Toshiba is having in getting orders out from Thailand. If you’re looking for hardware have a look through the National Parts Depot catalogue to find exactly what you need.
